* E-Commerce connections: Marketing Analytics vs E-commerce Analytics
There are two ways to connect to Stripe, WooCommerce and Magento in Ametrika. 
li: Connections in the Ametrika Marketing Analytics product (Ametrika for Business or Ametrika for Agencies). Marketing Analytics products use native analytics APIs available from Stripe, Magento and WooCommerce. Analytics API provide high level data metrics. 
li: Ametrika E-commerce Analytics product. E-commerce Analytics use APIs differently. Instead of realying on pre-defined and aggregated data it downloads all transactions and orders and builds analytics functionality on top of the detailed data available from Stripe and WooCommerce. 
q: Built on top of orders and transactional data from online stores and SaaS accounts, E-commerce Analytics offers detailed insights and powerful analytics capabilities such as customer, product, order filtering and segmentation as well as Email Marketing features.
To connect to the standard analytics APIs, use "Add Template" or "Add Widget" options as shown below:

Using Marketing Analytics APIs above does not require E-commerce Analytics features. When working in the E-commerce Analytics product, when you connect to Stripe, WooCommerce or Magento, Ametrika starts downloading (synchronising) transaction data from online stores. Ecommerce Analytics will build data cubes and real-time event handlers to make sure you see data changes and trends as soon as they occur. Ametrika will continue updating internal datasets by synchronising data with WooCommerce, Stripe and Magento.
* How to connect stores to E-Commerce Analytics
Connecting Stripe, WooCommerce and Magento to the E-commerce Analytics product is very easy. Open any of the E-commerce Analytics dashboards and use "Add Store" option at the top as shown here:

Alternatively, go to "Left Panel > E-commerce Analytics > Connections" and add new Stripe, WooCommerce and Magento connection.

As you add a new store, you will follow simple steps to connect each account:

Once you have connected your stores, Ametrika will start retrieving and synchronising your account data. You will see messages in the interface that will inform you of the ongoing synchronisation process. During the data synchronisation process, the ecommerce metrics may still be displayed in dashboards and reports, however it will be incomplete until the synchronisation process finishes. Analytics widgets and metrics will display a message warning telling you if he data synchronisation process has completed.

The same "E-commerce Analytics > Connections" interface can be used to disconnect (remove) Stripe, WooCommerce and Magento stores from the E-commerce analytics product. To remove a connection, move your mouse over "E-commerce Analytics" button and select the "DELETE" option.

Once you have configured the connection, you can always check its status by visiting "E-commerce Analytics > Data Monitoring" option on the left.

* How to segment product and customer data
Any dashboard or data view in the E-commerce Analytics can be further analyzed by applying filters and selecting data segments. The product comes with over 30 pre-defined segments and filters. * How to configure E-commerce display options
In any E-Commerce Analytics dashboard or report, you can change the presentation currency and the selection of stores. You can change these settings for the whole dashboard (report), as well as for individual widgets. The following image shows where to find these configuration options:

After you have modified ecommerce settings (currency, store selection and others), you can choose to apply the new configuration to all E-Commerce Analytics dashboards and reports. Use the following check box to achieve that:

* How to share E-commerce data
Once you have configured the data displays, you can then share your data in client portals, as reports or embedded dashboards, as well as generate automated AI data insights that can be received in Slack or by email.

* Configuring Google Data Studio connector

If the number is higher than what is allowed in your subscription, you can either disconnect a store or upgrade your subscription.

E-commerce Suite overview

There are two ways to view WooCommerce data in Ametrika:
l: Marketing Analytics dashboards and reports (Ametrika for Agencies and Ametrika for Business products)
l: Advanced product, customer analytics, data segmentation in <a href="https://www.ametrika.com/support/configure-ecommerce-connections">the Ametrika E-commerce Analytics</a>
Both - Marketing and E-commerce Analytics - can use WooCommerce standard programmatic interface (API) as well as the Ametrika WooCommerce plugin that you can install in your store separately.
* WooCommerce data in dashboards and reports
To access WooCommerce data in the Ametrika core dashboards visit the left panel and select the WooCommerce dashboard as shown in the image below:

You can view WooCommerce data in reports by accessing the Reports item in the left panel.
Data widgets in core dashboards and reports will display information available through the standard WooCommerce programmatic interface (API) that will require you to enter WooCommerce keys when creating a connection.
* WooCommerce data in the Ametrika E-Commerce Analytics
WooCommerce API connection can be used by the Ecommerce Suite to analyze individual transactions and build advanced analytics data views. E-Commerce Analytics will also build customer CRM, create segments and will support your email marketing campaigns.

Both E-Commerce Analytics and Marketing Analytics Ametrika dashboards use the following methods to connect to the WooCommerce store data:
l: WooCommerce standard API for core reporting in Ametrika. It is used by most data widgets in Ametrika reports and dashboards.
l: Ametrika WooCommerce plugin offers an additional level of live data. It supports real-time Shopping basket events and sales funnel views such as web store visits, product interactions and other metrics.
* How to connect to the WooCommerce API
When adding a WooCommerce widget, template or when a newly added dashboard prompts you to enter your store details, you will need to provide the following information:
l: WooCommerce ConsumerKey and SecretKey. 
l: WooCommerce store URL

When entering the store URL, make sure you enter the full domain starting with https:// or http://
Then you need to create your WooCommerce keys. Visit your WooCommerce administration console and generate the API keys (Consumer and Secret). Check out <a href="https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-rest-api/" target="_blank">WooCommerce API Key Generation Page</a> for more details (WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API > Select Add Key).

* WooCommerce API requirements
To be able to use WooCommerce API you must have:
l: WooCommerce 3.5+.
l: WordPress 4.4+.
l: Pretty permalinks in Settings > Permalinks so that the custom endpoints are supported. Default permalinks will not work.
To check Permalinks settings, go to your WordPress configuration (Settings > Permalinks) and set them to any but Plain option.

* Enabling authentication headers in your store
Sometimes, after you have done the above checks, we still can not retrieve data. Ametrika will report "Internal error" or "WooCommerce website not configured for external API (headers)". This happens in cases when WooCommerce stores are configured to remove HTTP authentication headers from data API requests. This is a known issue in WooCommerce community. There are a few options that you can try to remove this limitation. Check out this <a href="https://robotninja.com/blog/fix-common-woocommerce-rest-api-issues/" target="_blank">post that shows available options</a>.
Once you have generated the keys and added them to the WooCommerce popup dialogue in Ametrika widgets will start displaying data.

You will be able to see the new WooCommerce connection in the Connections panel on the left:

* Sending WooCommerce data to Ametrika E-Commerce Analytics
After you have added your new WooCommerce store keys, Ametrika dashboards and reports can start displaying data. By default, the E-Commerce Analytics does not receive any events from the store. You need to explicitly add the same connection to the E-Commerce Analytics.
q: E-Commerce Analytics is charged based on the number of orders that you process per month. Every time you add a store, Ametrika starts downloading orders and building new analytics metrics, dimensions and customer segments. Every downloaded order contributes toward your monthly quota. You will be required to upgrade your subscription if you reach your order limit.
To send WooCommerce store orders to the E-Commerce Analytics, visit the Connections panel on the left and click "ADD EXPORT" next to your WooCommerce Store.

Give your connection a new name and click APPLY.

This will add the store to the E-Commerce Analytics. Our platform will start downloading orders and analyzing the data. 
Your connected stores will also be visible in the E-Commerce Analytics > Connection panel shown below:

The status of the newly added connection is "Resyncing". This means that the E-Commerce Analytics is downloading and analyzing orders, products, clients and customer segments.
The same status will be displayed at the bottom of all E-commerce widgets until the process of data resyncing is complete.

* Enabling real-time events and shopping basket analytics
There are several widgets in the E-Commerce Analytics and in the core Ametrika dashboards and reports that display real-time data from your store. They are related to the store visitors' browsing behaviours, shopping cart operations and sales funnel analytics.
If you would like to monitor currently active and abandoned shopping baskets and send email campaigns to your store visitors, you will need to enable Ametrika WooCommerce plugin in your WooCommerce Store.
To do so, visit your WooCommerce control panel and install <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/ametrika/" target="_blank">Ametrika for WooCommerce plugin</a>.
The plugin configuration options will be available under WooCommerce > Integration > Ametrika tab in your WordPress admin panel.

How to connect to WooCommerce

* How to filter and segment Ecommerce data in Ametrika
Every Ecommerce Suite dashboard can display all transactional data or it can be filtered using a variety of filters and conditions. Ametrika offers a number of predefined filters as well as ability to analyze data in the dashboard by using data segments as custom filters.
The following image shows how to locate filters and segments. To apply a combination of filters to Ecommerce dashboards, use the dashboard header and click the "Filters" icon. A filter panel will be displayed on the right.

Segment management panel can be found in the left panel, under E-Commerce Analytics. If you can not see E-Commerce Analytics in the left panel of Ametrika application, this means it is hidden from the list of active add-ons. Use the Left panel > SETTINGS > Account > Add-ons to make the E-Commerce Analytics visible again. The following image shows how to locate the option:

* How to apply filters to your dashboards
Use the "Filters" icon in the header of the Ecommerce Suite dashboard. If you select the "Manage filters…" option, you will see all available filters and options that you can apply for the selected dashboard.

For any dashboard you can select any combination of filters. For every filter defined in the system, you will see the number of products, clients or transactions that satisfy its conditions (see image below).

* Using segments in eCommerce filters
You can also use any combination of segments (predefined or custom) as your ecommerce dashboard filters. Use the "Manage segments..." link to access the segment list, to add, remove or modify segments.

The segments list shows segments currently visible in the system. Segments marked with the star mean that they are predefined segments. They have been pre configured by Ametrika. You can still modify them or change them back to their original definition.

There are over 30 product, customer and transaction based segments available. To add any number of them, use the "ADD SEGMENT" button at the bottom right as shown on the above screenshot.
Segments that you add to the list will become available in the list of filters for your ecommerce dashboards.
* How to modify and create new eCommerce segments
Click on the segment in the list to enter the edit panel. Once in the edit mode, you will be able to add any combination of conditions available to segment creation. Conditions can be of type OR or AND (union or intersection of condition outputs).

If the segment is predefined, you can always discard your changes in the future by using the "RESTORE" button. Custom segments that you created yourself do not have this option.

Once you have connected Stripe or WooCommerce and Ametrika has synchronised your store data, you will see the data in Looker Studio.

Once you have connected your stores, you can create a Looker Studio connection.
* How to configure Looker Studio connector
Start from locating Ametrika Ecommerce Suite connector in Looker Studio.

Then proceed to authorisation with Ametrika. You will be asked to log into your Ametrika account.
q:Currently Looker Studio connector is only available in the Ametrika for Agencies product.
Once you have authorised with Ametrika, the platform will verify if your Google account email address is known to Ametrika account that you are trying to access. If your Google email address is not known, you will receive a notification from the system saying that "Provided email address is not known to the selected Ametrika account":

If you receive this message, you will need to make sure you add your email address to the list of members of any Ametrika organisation (client) in your Ametrika account. q:E-Commerce Analytics to Looker Studio connector is part of the Ametrika for Agencies product.
Please make sure you select the correct URL to log into the Ametrika for Agencies. E-Commerce Analytics add-on is not yet part of the Ametrika for Business product.
Once your email address and access key are validated, you will be asked to enter the following parameters: 
l: Organisation in your Ametrika account: you can access data of one Ametrika organisation (client) at a time. Use this parameter to select the organisation you would like to access.
l: Presentation currency: since we will be combining data from multiple online stores or accounts, we will need to select the presentation currency. Ametrika will use daily foreign exchange rates to automatically calculate correct values in the selected currency.

After this step, you will be presented with the list of fields available in the Ametrika E-Commerce Analytics.

And finally, you can select our default E-commerce Looker Studio template that will display your key sales performance metrics with filters by store, country and other parameters.

* Before you start: configuring your email server
All campaigns and automations are sent from our dedicated email servers. In order for emails to look as if they were sent from your domain, you need to visit the SMTP server configuration in Ametrika and enable the Email Hosting feature of the Ametrika platform.
To access standard emails and to configure custom email server, you need to go to "Left Menu > SETTINGS > Account > Email / SMTP".

* Configuring Hosted Email Service
To use our hosted SMTP Service, you will need to add a few DNS records in your domain configuration. These changes should be made by your web administrator. Why do you need to do that?
l: To prove that you are an authorized sender for the domain
l: То establish a positive email reputation for your own domain
Go to LEFT MENU > SETTINGS > Account > Email / SMTP > Emails Tab > From Hosted Email Service option

Enter the following fields and click APPLY:
l: Custom domain - your domain that you will send emails from
l: From E-mail - verified email address that will be used to send emails
l: From Name - "From" value that your recipients will see
After you have clicked APPLY, Ametrika will populate the DNS records that will need to be added to your domain configuration. Click "Copy to Clipboard" buttons to copy values and send them to your website administrator. Your administrator will be able to modify the DNS records for you.
q:Once the DNS records have been added, you can verify the configuration by clicking the "VERIFY DOMAIN RECORDS" button. If configuration have been applied correctly, you will see green icons. Your email configuration will be saved only if these DNS records have been added and validated.
q:It may take up to 48 hours for DNS changes to propagate. If the changes are not visible, check the configuration interface in a few hours and click the "VERIFY DOMAIN RECORDS" button again.

Below is an example of what the correct configuration would look like if your domain is using Cloudflare service. This may change from service to service. Your web administrator would know how to configure DNS records in your domain.

* How to test sending of emails
To test your custom email configuration, click the SEND TEST button in the Email Templates tab. Test emails will be sent to the email address that you indicated in the Test Email edit box. Please note that test emails are sent to verified email addresses only. You can always create a test user in the system and verify his or her email. If the test is successful, Ametrika will show you a confirmation note and you will receive an email message in your inbox.

Before you start: how to configure your email server

* Adding and managing contacts in Ametrika email marketing
In order to send email campaigns and automations you need to add some email contacts first.
* Contacts, stores and Ametrika organizations
Ametrika allows you to work independently in different organizations. Any organisation that you create in Ametrika can be connected to a number of different stores. 
Whenever you add a new store to an Ametrika organization, all contacts sycnronised by the platform are only visible within that organization. Same for email campaigns and automations. They are only visible within an organization.
Since you can connect multiple stores per organization, whenever you define an email campaign or automation, you need to define what store it will take contacts from. You can send an individual campaign or automation to one or more stores that belong to the organization.

Same for contact uploads. Whenever you upload a contact file into an organization, you need to specify what store the uploaded contacts will belong to.
Q: If you remove a store or an organization from the system, the contacts of the store will be deleted, except for the unsubscribe information. The system will remember what contacts unsubscribed from email campaigns from your domain. If a contact unsubscribed from any of your email campaigns in the past, no emails from your domain will ever be sent to that contact again in the future.
* How to add contacts to your organization
There are three ways to add contacts to an organization. 
li:Automatically add contacts when store is syncronised
li:Add contacts whenever a client registers with your website (store or app)
li:Add contacts by uploading CSV files
* Adding contacts via store sync
This happens automatically when you connect to a new WooCommerce, Stripe or Magento store. Contacts loaded from a store will belong to that store only and will only be visible within the store’s organization.
* Adding contacts whenever a new contact registers with your store
Whenever a new client (contact) logs into your store by entering an email address, in case of Magento and WooCommerce Ametrika will automatically add it to the contact list for the that connected store in real-time. In addition to that, Ametrika will synchronize the store every night to make sure no new contacts have been lost.
In case of Stripe, Ametrika will also see the new contact after the regular nightly synchronization has completed for the store. If you would like to add new contacts to Ametrika immediately after they have registered with your Stripe store or application, you need to send Ametrika a notification. We have provided an API that you can use to send new contacts to Ametrika E-commerce Suite in real-time.

* Adding contacts by uploading CSV files
To load contacts that are not part of your store, you can use CSV import feature.
Go to the Left Panel > E-commerce Analytics > Email Marketing > File Uploads and click the NEW UPLOAD.

Since all email contacts in the system have to belong to a store, you will need to select one of the previously connected stores.
After the upload, the system will tell you how many contacts have been loaded. Only unique contacts that are not known in the system will be counted.
q: If you delete a connection to a store, you will lose all contacts that have been synchronized with or uploaded to that store.
* View contact details
To view the contacts that you have uploaded or synchronized, go to Left Panel > E-commerce Analytics > Email Marketing > Contacts

To view your contact details, click the VIEW drop-down button next to the contact in the table.

The view panel will show and will display details of the contact - its latest email and purchase activity as well as its browsing patterns.

If you do not want a contact to receive any emails, you can disable it by using the DISABLE drop-down button next to the contact in the table.
* Adding / removing tags
Tags are used to include or exclude contacts from email campaigns and as a custom variable for selected and managing your email contacts in the system.
To add or remove a tag, use the check box at the top-right of the contacts table and use ADD/REMOVE options from the list.

How to add and manage email contacts

* Creating and sending email campaigns in Ametrika
To create an email campaign go to the Left Panel > Ecommerce Analytics > Email Marketing > Campaigns. Click the Add Campaign button.

The campaign will be created once you have defined its name, type, selected a store you want to send the campaign to and write an email message.

In the Campaign Configuration panel you define campaign name, store and the subset of contacts that you would like to send the campaign to. If you do not use any filters, the campaign will be sent to all active contacts in your store.

In this case, you define a campaign that will send emails to all contacts that have been added to the store after March 15th, have more than 2 orders and purchased over €100 worth of products.

* Email configuration
In this panel you can define the email text, add images, links, additional formatting, “From” email and send a test email to yourself.

* Campaign type
In the Campaign type you decide if the campaign will be a once-off or auto-respond
li:Once-off campaigns - are sent only once to all contacts that satisfy your filter. An example of the Once-off campaign is a “Merry Christmas” message that you would like to send to all your existing customers.
li:Auto-respond campaigns - are sent to all contacts that satisfy your filter and then to all new contacts that satisfy your filter in the future. Auto-respond campaigns are used to welcome new customers to your store or to send promotional emails to all clients who have placed over a set number of orders with your store. Auto-respond campaign can either run forever or have a stop date in the future.

Campaign of any type can be sent immediately or have a start date. If campaign is of type “Auto-Reponde”, you can define the end date. If the end date is not defined, the campaign will keep sending emails until it has been stopped manually.
* Starting / stopping email campaigns

Campaigns can be started or stopped from the campaign list interface. After end date, a campaign can only be deleted or cloned (duplicated).

How to create and send email marketing campaigns

* Creating email automations in Ecommerce Suite
To create an email campaign go to the Left Panel > Ecommerce Analytics > Email Marketing > Automations. Click the Add Automation button.

The automation will be created once you have defined it’s name, start/end date, selected the store you want to send the automation to and define actions (set of emails) of the automations.

* Automation Configuration
In the Automation Configuration panel you define automation name, store, the subset of contacts that you would like to send the automation to as well as the automation start and end date.

Every automation should have one or more email messages that it sends to qualifying contacts. If your automation sends several emails, you need to make sure there is a wait of a day or more between each email.

An automation can only be in either running or stopped state. You can start or stop any automation from the automation list interface.


How to build email marketing automations

* Use case: sending a discount offer to all clients that spent over $100
You can configure an email campaign that will send a discount to all existing clients that have spent over $100 as well as all future clients that reach the $100 spend.
First, create a new campaign and set its filter to “Revenue more than 100 USD” as shown below:

Create an email message that sends out a discount value:

Make sure you send a test message to one of your verified emails.
Set the campaign type to “Auto-respond”. This will ensure that all future contacts will receive this campaign message:

After you have configured the campaign type, your campaign configuration should look something like this:

Now you can start sending your discounts by clicking the SEND NOW item from the list of options on the right. The campaign will start sending emails to all existing contacts that satisfy the filter “Revenue is more than $100”. Since it is an auto-respond campaign, it will remain active indefinitely (unless you define an end date). It will keep scanning your contacts and as soon as they satisfy the filter condition, it will send an email with the discount.
If you do not want to send emails immediately after clients have purchased more than $100, you can instead create an email automation with two actions. The first one will be a Wait action (wait for 3 days) followed by an email with the discount as shown here:

Email campaign use case: sending a discount clients that spent over $100

* Use case: onboarding new customers with email automations
Online businesses that build SaaS products use E-commerce Suite automations to create and send emails to new clients. We at Ametrika also use our product to send emails to new clients to make them aware of the features of our platform. This tutorial shows the configuration of the Ametrika E-commerce Suite email automation.
Start by using the Add Automation button in the list of automations.

The automation’s configuration will look something like this:

It is important that the automation is configured without the end date. This way all future contacts that get added to the store either through upload, store synchronization or via real-time Ametrika API will start receiving emails. There is no need to configure filters for this automation.

Once you click the Start Now button, the automation will send the first email to all existing emails and after the 4 days will follow up with the second email and so on. All new contacts that get uploaded to the E-commerce Suite or synchronized with the store will start receiving these email.

Email automation use case: onboarding new customers

* How do contacts unsubscribe from email marketing campaigns?
Every email you send as part of your email marketing campaign or automation has an Unsubscribe link inserted by the Ametrika platform. The link is shown below. It cannot be removed.

When a contact clicks this link, his or her email address becomes marked as unsubscribed. Any attempt to send more email messages to that email address will be ignored by Ametrika. The unsubscribed flag is “global”. It means, once a contact unsubscribes from any of your campaigns in any of your stores, he or she will not receive email marketing messages from any of your future campaigns or automations.
When you send a test message, the link will lead to this Knowledge Base post. When in production (when email marketing campaigns are running), the links lead to our generic email server page where the contact can complete the unsubscribe action.

Some of these emails can have an email footer, that can also be configured by you in the same interface. There is a separate drop-down option for configuring the email footer.
When you open ACCOUNT CONFIGURATION > EMAIL Tab, you will see the following configuration panel:

In this interface you can select the email template that you would like to configure and change any text. You reset any template to original configuration by clicking RESET button.
To test configured template, click SEND TEST button and a test email will be send to the email address that you indicated in the Test Email edit box. q:Custom templates and Email server configuration are premium features. They are available to clients on Ametrika for Business TEAMS and Ametrika for Agencies TEAM plans.
When you open ACCOUNT CONFIGURATION > EMAIL Tab, you will see the following configuration panel:

In this interface you can select the email template that you would like to configure and change any text. You reset any template to original configuration by clicking RESET button.
To test configured template, click SEND TEST button and a test email will be send to the email address that you indicated in the Test Email edit box. Please note that test emails are sent to verified email addresses only. You can always create a test user in the system and verify his or her email. If the test is successful, Ametrika will show you a confirmation note and you will receive an email message in your inbox. Here is an example of a test Insights email:

Test emails are sent from either ametrika.com, analytics-report.com or your own domain that can be configured in the top area of the screen.
